Kingsport man designs his own hybrid (Kingsport Times-News)
David Hrivnak, an industrial engineer at Eastman, holds the electric plug that recoils back into his 2004 Chevy Avalanche. Hrivnak has placed a supplemental electric motor in the vehicle and has battery cells located behind the truck step bars.
